On Sunday we had to be out of the house for the Open House (scary that this is all becoming so official - we close on the new house tomorrow). We decided to go to Annapolis for the day. We started at a Golf Center where the kids hit balls on the driving range and then played mini-golf. I played the first 9 holes with them, Matt played the second half. The weather was perfect and we all had a great day of being away and not worrying about house stuff.
Here's a photo of Finn watching Merete take a shot:
They both had a great time. Merete did well - she gets frustrated easily, though. Finn, although he may not be a natural golfer, makes up for it in effort.
Here's a video of Merete taking a shot:
Now compare that with Finn's shot. You'll see he makes the first one easily. But, then he realizes he's being taped. Watch what happens. It's rather amusing. (I apologize for the last few seconds - I'm not so good at Blackberry filming).
After golfing we headed to Annapolis where we had lunch and wandered around the town. We went to the State House, which Merete loved. She's really into history right now, so she really appreciated it. At the bus stop this morning, she was telling a friend that she got to see an actual document that George Washington wrote. I'm thinking we need to get her to Strawberry Banke in Portsmouth soon!
According to the real estate agent, the Open House was a success. Now we just wait to see if there are any offers. He thought we'd hear in 48-72 hours. I really don't want to have to do another Open House. It sort of feels like you plan for a big party, but don't get to go. Keep your fingers crossed!
